SRE/DevOps Engineer to join the team and take ownership of infrastructure projects.

Our client is a Silicon Valley-based tech company headquartered in Palo Alto, California,
with over 10 years of innovation in enterprise solutions. Their main product is an AI-
powered enterprise platform designed for cost management and procurement, featuring
an intuitive interface driven by an AI assistant. The platform serves key clients like Tesco,
Adidas, British Telecom (BT) and others.

About the Team
You’ll be part of a growing team of 7 engineers, including:
– 3 Front-End (React) Developers
– 2 Back-End (Python) Developers
– 1 SRE/DevOps Engineer (you!)
Our team will collaborate closely with the client’s engineering teams in the US and UK,
ensuring smooth integration and coordination. We aim for overlapping work hours, with a
preferred schedule of 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM to facilitate communication across time zones.
What You Will Be Doing
– You will work with cutting-edge data and analytics technologies, while having great
visibility and impact across all of Engineering.
– You will build services for which resilience, scalability, durability, security, compliance,
manageability, observability, and cost optimization come inherently.
– You will provide expertise in your chosen area, including helpfulness, ability, and
willingness to teach and mentor others, as well as debugging and fixing operational
issues (e.g., system configuration, system provisioning, and user access).
– You will keep a keen eye on security issues in every project you work on, contributing to
improving security in the systems already in place.
– You will actively participate in discussions with the team and other teams to identify and
pursue the best solutions to automation and systems management problems.
– You will establish strong relationships with other teams to influence them more
effectively in their pursuit of automation and toil reduction, and to keep the rest of the
team informed of upcoming initiatives.
What We Are Looking For
You’ll be a good fit for this role if you:
– Have 4+ years of relevant experience in building and scaling distributed data
infrastructure
– Have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
– Have experience in managing and scaling distributed systems in a public, private, or
hybrid cloud environment
– Have the ability to design, author, and release code in languages like Python, Go, Ruby,
or Java
– Have a drive to automate manual operations and to improve them through repeated
iteration
– Have hands-on experience managing large numbers of diverse systems with
configuration management or software delivery platforms (such as Ansible, Spinnaker,
Terraform, or others)
– Have experience with deploying, supporting, and monitoring new and existing services,
platforms, and application stacks
– Have excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to fix issues efficiently
– Have experience with scale testing, disaster recovery, and capacity planning
– Have a strong sense of ownership and integrity demonstrated through clear
communication and collaboration
